About the event
Looking for an unforgettable experience and a moment of calm? The "I Like Chopin" piano concert redefines what a classical music event can be in Gdańsk. This is not an ordinary piano recital – it's an intimate story told by candlelight about the composer, his passions, his longings and his musical genius.
We'll take you on a fascinating journey through the life of Fryderyk Chopin – one of the greatest composers of all time. From his first, joyful pieces, written when he was just seven years old and fascinated by Polish folk music, through the mature work of his Paris years, to the reflective, melancholy compositions of his final years.
Emotion and history in every note
What sets the intimate "I Like Chopin" concerts apart on Gdańsk's cultural map is the unique combination of music and the spoken word.
We believe music resonates more fully when we understand what lies behind the notes. That's why we give every piece its context: we talk about the historical background and about the personal experiences and emotions that inspired the composer to create each masterpiece. It makes live music feel remarkably close, clear and moving.
What will you hear? Chopin in the company of the great masters
The heart of the evening is always the music of the Polish master. The programme includes the Mazurkas Op. 24 and 33, the Études Op. 10 and 25 led by the "Revolutionary", the Polonaise in A major Op. 40, the Ballade in F major, the famous Nocturne in E flat major Op. 9 No. 2, selected Preludes Op. 28 and the Funeral March from Sonata No. 2. These are among the most fascinating piano works written in the 19th century, and pieces that many people know even if they can't always name them.
To show the full richness of piano music, our concert also features works by other world-class composers such as Robert Schumann, Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Rachmaninoff.

We had a wonderful evening at I Like Chopin. The experience is a 50-minute candlelit piano concert held in an intimate and cozy venue, creating a truly relaxing and elegant atmosphere. What makes it especially enjoyable is that it’s not just a concert. Between the performances, the audience also learns about Frédéric Chopin’s life and his music, making it accessible even for people who are not experts in classical music. This is a great idea for anyone looking to spend a pleasant evening while discovering one of Poland’s greatest composers in a relaxed and engaging way. The atmosphere is warm, the performance is beautiful, and the storytelling adds a lot to the experience. It’s a fantastic concept created by a group of young people who have only recently started this project. We sincerely hope it continues to grow and becomes a great success. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Gdańsk.

This one-hour piano concert on Rajska Street in Gdańsk, right next to the historic Duży Młyn, was a truly memorable experience. As someone who loves both Queen and Chopin, I was curious to see how such different musical worlds could be presented in a piano format. The result exceeded my expectations. The venue has a warm and intimate atmosphere, enhanced by hundreds of electronic candles that create a magical evening setting. The soft light makes the audience feel relaxed and fully immersed in the music from the very first note. What makes these concerts particularly special is that every piece is introduced with a short commentary and an interesting story. Rather than simply listening to a sequence of compositions, the audience is taken on a fascinating journey through the background of the music, the lives of the composers, and the inspiration behind each work. These introductions are engaging, informative, and often surprisingly entertaining. I was also impressed by the story behind the business itself. Two young gentlemen decided to leave what they felt was a dishonest and limiting management environment and build something of their own. Their passion, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit are visible in every aspect of the event. It is inspiring to see people turn a difficult experience into a successful cultural venture. The combination of Chopin’s elegance, Queen’s timeless melodies, thoughtful storytelling, and the candlelit atmosphere creates a unique and unforgettable cultural experience. I highly recommend these concerts to anyone visiting Gdańsk or looking for a special evening filled with music, inspiration, and genuine passion
